About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on various production equipment. This role involves recommending improvements to equipment and processes to enhance quality and productivity. The mechanic must be proficient in using a CMMS system for work orders, completing process sheets, and performing safety checks on machines. Additionally, they will conduct routine preventative maintenance, replace and repair machine parts, adjust functional parts, and test machine performance. The position requires maintaining continuity between shifts through documentation and communication, and being available for on-call duties and additional hours as needed to ensure production uptime.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with process equipment up to 480V required
  • Read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on various production equipment.
  • Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Navigate a CMMS system to complete assigned work orders.
  • Fill out process sheets and perform safety checks on machines.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
  • Replace and repair parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Replace electrical parts and equipment.
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Start machines/devices to test their performance.
  • Be on call and available to work additional hours as required to keep production running at peak performance when machines are down or not in operation.
  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
