Troubleshoot, repair, perform preventative maintenance, modify, and install electrical drives and controls, power distribution systems, pneumatic instrumentation, and mechanical systems in a safe manner. This role involves performing tasks such as troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, instrumentation, and control problems, repairing or replacing electrical components, motors, drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers (AB PLC 5, 500, 5000, and MicroLogix). Responsibilities include calibration of PID loops, building electrical and pneumatic control panels, replacing and installing lighting fixtures, completing preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, and reporting downtown and mechanical problems. The role also includes training Apprentice E & I technicians as needed, ensuring safe work practices, identifying and correcting unsafe conditions, and completing all required safety training. The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and using precision measuring instruments. They remove defective parts, adjust functional parts, and complete work orders, logging detailed information into a maintenance management system. This position controls downtime by informing production workers of maintenance techniques, maintains equipment inventories, and provides mechanical/electrical maintenance information and reports. They maintain continuity among work teams through documentation and communication, and ensure a safe and clean working environment. Active participation in the Intertape Performance System (IPS) and safety audits is expected, along with performing related tasks as requested by the manager.
