About The Position

Ocean Spray is seeking Maintenance Mechanics for their Kenosha Bottling Plant, a 400,000 sq ft facility that mixes and batches concentrates for Cranberry Sauce and Cranberry Juice products. This is a high-speed manufacturing environment with recent upgrades to bottling lines. The position operates on a 12-hour rotating night shift (6pm-6am) with every other weekend off, offering year-round employment. Mechanics can expect a starting pay rate between $33.11 and $40.31 per hour, based on experience, plus a $0.75 per hour night shift differential. Requirements

  • Mechanical Troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Machine Safety Inspections
  • Ability to use machines and technologies such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), (Allen Bradley), Conveyor Systems, and Servo Motors.
  • Must be able to work in a 24/7 environment, 12hr shifts, every other weekend, and possibly some holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime for vacation coverage and training purposes.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance reliability.
  • No deviation from required documentation/ensure information is timely, accurate and complete.
  • Communicate with team members on the same shift and between shifts to ensure continuous line productivity and effective operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to pass initial assessment

Nice To Haves

  • Bottling, canning, and manufacturing experience, a plus
  • PLS (AB) and ladder logic knowledge experience a plus.
  • Requires a valid fork truck license (Ocean Spray provided training)
  • May be required to work outside or may be assigned to work in the cooler/ freezer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
  • Support line operations, assist with problems on the line, rework, coverage, troubleshooting, and line relief as needed.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, attendance, and work-rule requirements.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Answer line calls and support operators.
  • Support changeovers to ensure they are performed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Train operators and other mechanics in all aspects of electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Rebuild parts, fabricate materials, and update prints to maintain and upgrade equipment as required.
  • Take corrective action as required by initiated work orders through the CMMS System or as circumstances dictate and write new work orders to account for unplanned corrective maintenance time.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical ladder diagrams, and exploded parts diagrams.
  • Initiate purchase of required tools, parts, and materials and maintain accountability for tools issued.
  • Use proper lock-out/tag-out, confined space, and hot works permits to maintain a safe environment and comply with EHS regulatory procedures.
  • Upgrade skills and knowledge as equipment and technology develop.
  • Ensure adherence to the NEC (National Electric Code) and the NFPA code in all work performed.
  • Keep work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Complete routine maintenance checks and enter a record of necessary equipment repairs into a maintenance log.
  • Safely and competently operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and walk-behind lifts (certification required).
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
