Industrial Maintenance Technician (6PM to 6AM)
About The Position
ProAmpac, a leading global flexible packaging company, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician for a 12-hour shift (6PM to 6AM) in their Cheektowaga, NY facility. This role is due to increased workload and offers a competitive pay range, a sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the facility and equipment to ensure product manufacturing meets quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness specifications. The position requires a strong mechanical and industrial electrical background with hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as the ability to diagnose and solve problems on mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems. Training on the first shift (7AM to 3PM) for one month will be required.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 5 years of machine repair and industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose machine problems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to coordinate schedules with machine operators and troubleshoot problems.
- Computer skills required (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to frequently lift 50lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Strong preference for advanced skills in both machine repair and PLC control systems repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of flexographic presses is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Effectively troubleshoot & repair equipment and adhere to maintenance documentation requirements
- Actively engage in workplace safety improvement initiatives
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
- Order parts / supplies as needed.
