About The Position

Fleet Laboratories is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd Shift at our Lynchburg, VA location. This role is responsible for applying technical skills and judgment to maintain and improve operational equipment and the physical facility in a safe and quality-conscious manner, requiring a variety of troubleshooting skills. The position impacts profitability by affecting production capabilities, minimizing downtime, and developing equipment improvements. The work environment is a clean, air-conditioned cGMP environment.

Requirements

Requires the knowledge gained through a high school degree or the equivalent, and completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equal training.
Minimum of two years of related experience.
Knowledge and experience in electrical or willing to take electrical classes.

Responsibilities

Perform duties involving a wide range of preventative maintenance and repair work to a variety of electromechanical devices, machinery, instrumentation, HVAC, fixtures, and furnishings throughout the facility.
Impacts profitability by directly effecting production capabilities and potential, minimizing downtime, and developing new equipment and improvements to existing equipment, minimizing the need for capital expenditures.
Monitor and/or evaluate current or potential problems with resulting action or plan to eliminate problem.
Participate with others in the testing and evaluation of raw materials and equipment.
Assist in the training and instruction of Production and Maintenance personnel on modifications or installation of equipment and make recommendations for improvement to product techniques.
Research manuals and drawings for procurement of replacement parts and supplies.
Provide feedback to the Maintenance Mechanic Leader and the Maintenance Supervisor regarding equipment condition.
Maintain machines to ensure that quality packages are provided at the speeds designated, and maintain work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition according to GMPs.
Perform other related duties as required.
