About The Position

Perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled duties to repair, rebuild, maintain, and install machinery, building equipment and fixtures. This role involves working from work orders, verbal instructions, trades training, manuals, blueprints, and drawings to machine and fabricate parts, assemble, or disassemble machines and troubleshoot problems. The mechanic will operate machine shop equipment to complex and exacting tolerances, assemble, disassemble, and rebuild all plant and equipment to exacting specifications, and lay out materials for machine guards, parts, conveyors, tanks, shafts, and building repairs. Responsibilities also include setting up and testing equipment for adjustments and improvements, attaching and rewiring electrical power, rigging and moving machinery, erecting and repairing building structures, maintaining vehicles and material handling trucks, designing jigs and fixtures, instructing operators, and providing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and building trade services. The role requires developing bills of materials, operating various tools and equipment, referring questionable conditions to supervisors, preparing records and reports, observing company policies and regulations, utilizing total quality concepts for continuous improvement, and maintaining a positive team working atmosphere.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or over three to five years of related CNC Machining Equipment Maintenance experience and Machine Shop Machinery Maintenance, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge in disassembly and reassembly of shop mechanical and electrical components such as: Gearbox maintenance, Switchgear, Junction boxes, Control systems & Control Panels, Pumps, Motors.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply basic trigonometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Work from work orders, verbal instructions, trades training, manuals, blueprints, and drawings to machine and fabricate parts, assemble, or disassemble machines and troubleshoot problems.
Operate machine shop equipment to complex and exacting tolerances to meet assigned job requirements.
Assemble, disassemble, and rebuild all plant and equipment to exacting specifications.
Layout materials for machine guards, parts, conveyors, tanks, shafts and building repairs.
Set up and test run equipment for adjustments, improvements, and reductions of down or set up times.
Attach electrical power, rewire, or wire parts and panels as needed.
Rig, move and install heavy or delicate machinery and equipment.
Erect, move and repair walls, fixtures, doors, and floors.
Maintain vehicles and material handling trucks.
Design jigs, fixtures, and operating stands.
Instruct operators and less experienced personnel to operate machines and equipment effectively and safely.
Provide mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and building trade practices for maintenance services.
Develop bills of materials and parts lists for assigned projects.
Operate lathes, millers, grinders, bench equipment, welders, plumbing tools and use precision measuring instruments, power, and hand tools.
Refer questionable conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.
Prepare and submit records, reports and forms required by company procedures.
Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping, and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools, and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.
Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.
