About The Position

Performs various maintenance tasks involving construction and alteration repairs of NEXCOM Hospitality Group NHG buildings and equipment. Plans and lays out work in accordance with drawings sketches blue-prints and own knowledge of construction or needed repairs.

Requirements

  • One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, etc.
  • Three years of general maintenance work involving a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, chemicals, and basic safe work practices.
  • Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • A recognized professional certification or license in one trade (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or painting trade) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work in at least three of the following trades in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related fixtures: Plumbing, Washer Dryer repair, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Carpentry, Painting.
  • Installs water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets, and sinks. Involves installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility supply and disposal systems and equipment, water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers.
  • Performs routine maintenance on washers and dryers to include cleaning lint ducts and vents, replacing hoses and fittings as required, and referring more complex problems to supervisor for action.
  • Recognizes the cause of faulty equipment and makes repairs on a variety of HVAC units, domestic and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems.
  • Repairs electrical systems by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering, and insulating defective wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Constructs, installs, repairs, and modifies wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness.
  • Performs coating work by any of the accepted methods of the trade, including special finishing techniques.
  • Determines the methods, techniques, devices, and materials best suited to the surface finish required.
  • Prepares surfaces by methods such as smoothing, filling, shaping, and leveling.
  • Prepares coating materials by tinting, toning, matching, blending, and mixing in various additives.
  • Applies coating materials with any of the accepted trade devices.
  • Ensures coating finish meets match, texture, decorative, thickness, and level requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
