About The Position

Complete Building Services (CBS), a division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc., is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a small college campus in Adelphi, Maryland, and one satellite location. The position performs a thorough tour of central plant mechanical equipment each shift and handles preventive and reactive maintenance. This is an open-shift role requiring availability to work any days and shifts to support around-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year. Hours are listed as Monday through Friday, with working hours variable depending on coverage needs. The role may require schedule changes and coverage on holidays or other special days. Pay is $27.50 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, plus trades training.
Universal CFC License.
Driver’s license.
2–7 years of commercial building or college campus experience.
Basic boiler and fire alarm experience.
Availability to work any days and shifts, with flexibility to change schedules as needed, including holidays or other special days.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with commercial building or college campus property types.
BAS/EMS experience.
Experience with high-pressure steam and chillers on site.

Responsibilities

Perform a full and thorough tour of central plant mechanical equipment every shift.
Complete preventive and general maintenance.
Respond to reactive maintenance requests.
Troubleshoot HVAC equipment and electrical systems.
Perform plumbing repairs.
Conduct daily building and equipment tours.
Float and cover shifts, adjusting the schedule as needed to meet coverage requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
