About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support day-to-day operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing or meat processing
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in cold/humid environments
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electrical systems, PLCs, and automated machinery is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including conveyors, grinders, slicers, packaging machines, and refrigeration units
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Inspect, diagnose, and replace defective machine parts
• Maintain and service refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure proper temperature control
• Adhere to OSHA, USDA, and FDA safety and regulatory guidelines
• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including repairs, work orders, and parts inventory
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues
• Train production employees on proper equipment use and minor troubleshooting
• Follow all company GMPs, policies, and procedures
