About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing maintenance support to the manufacturing process to minimize downtime due to mechanical problems. This role involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, performing preventative maintenance, calibrating equipment, and ensuring a safe work environment. The mechanic will also be involved in carpentry projects, maintaining equipment, and assisting with training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Ability to work overtime and shift work as required.
  • Good vision required for safe operation of forklift.
  • Preferred ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to read labels on pipe along with specs on paper.
  • Ability to read pressure gauges.
  • Welding Knowledge required.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of electrical controls.
  • Must possess knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to operate Forklifts, scissor or bucket lifts.
  • Ability to operate multimeter, amprobe, and hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical license, electrical controls experience and/or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Supervisors and Maintenance personnel to provide maintenance support.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, including electrical disconnects, subpanels, and main switchgear.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Calibrate various equipment.
  • Utilize safe work habits and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Perform advanced carpentry projects and coordinate special projects.
  • Ensure all areas are returned to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Interpret internal needs through strong communication and listening skills.
  • Work independently and manage multiple projects and assignments.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and safety awareness.
  • Work with computer, PLC hardware and software, inverter drivers, photo-eyes, proximity switches, counters, level sensors, controllers, and other computer-interfaced equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with OJT (On Job Training) employees as needed.
