About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining production continuity at our life sciences facility by performing repair, maintenance, and replacement of various mechanical systems. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with adherence to GDP (Good Documentation Practices) standards in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing environment. You'll maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, HVAC equipment, plumbing components, and specialized facility systems while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge life sciences infrastructure while contributing directly to JLL's operational excellence and client satisfaction in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Valid state driver's license
  • At least 1 year of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
  • Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs. and safely use ladders up to 30 feet
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of applicable technical training program with experience in CMMS systems (preferably Maximo)
  • Team-oriented approach with ability to work independently when required
  • Capability to work in various environments including crawl spaces, closets, vaults, and heights up to 30 feet
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair with experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with leak detection systems and understanding of life sciences facility requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as specified in internal CMMS within established deadlines, ensuring optimal equipment performance
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing components including toilets, urinals, water fountains, sinks, and piping systems
  • Execute repairs on mechanical HVAC systems including fans, motors, coil cleaning, filter replacement, pumps, bearings, air handlers, and cooling towers
  • Monitor and maintain leak detection systems, perform maintenance on plant steam components, and conduct facility inspections reporting on conditions impacting client operations
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on site vehicles, forklifts, scissor lifts, dock levelers, and garage doors
  • Update CMMS work order status accurately and contemporaneously while escalating problems to management in a timely manner
  • Participate in on-call rotation and comply with all safety procedures, maintaining clean work environments and proper hazardous material handling
