About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, machinery, and components at Pilgrim’s Waco Prepared Foods facility in Waco, Texas. The role responds to equipment issues identified by production, performs preventative maintenance, and completes assigned work accurately and efficiently. The posting also describes maintaining external areas in a clean, safe, and presentable manner and notes that additional duties may be assigned to support production demands. Requirements

Less than a high school education, two years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to physically perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Follow safety, USDA, HACCP, and plant rules and regulations.
Construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
Identify parts or machines that need new or replacement parts.
Use shop mathematics to complete assignments.
Interpret equipment drawings to adjust, maintain, or repair machinery.
Respond to production-area requests concerning mechanical equipment issues.
Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and identify potential mechanical issues.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently with regard to time and resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands.
Maintain external areas in a clean, safe, and presentable manner.
