The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of mechanical maintenance and construction activities, including repair and maintenance of manufacturing machines. The role involves performing work based on issued Work Orders, which may include scheduled preventive maintenance, unscheduled breakdowns, and seeking guidance from supervisors or leads to ensure safety. The mechanic will examine equipment and machinery, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective repairs. A proactive approach to identifying malfunctions and performing repairs is essential for optimal safety and efficiency. The position requires strict adherence to safety rules, including proper use of PPE, lock-out/tag-out procedures, powered industrial vehicles, confined spaces, and electrical equipment. Responsibilities also include arc welding, gas welding, cutting, brazing, and the proficient use of various hand and power tools. The role supports new construction and remodeling of the facility, operates powered industrial vehicles, and reports any safety violations or equipment misuse. Maintaining a clean work environment through 5S procedures is also a key aspect of the job. Employees are responsible for complying with all Federal, Local, and State government regulations, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE procedures, including attending all provided training and adhering to HSE policies and plans.
