About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic (2nd class) works in the Maintenance department at HCSC linen services’ Baltimore, Maryland plant. The role performs scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on production and environmental equipment to keep the facility functioning and maintain production standards and environmental control. The anticipated starting rate is $25 per hour, plus differentials. The schedule is third shift, Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; overtime is required. Background checks and drug screenings are required, and employment is contingent on successfully completing them.

Requirements

At least 2 years of practical experience or technical training in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills, along with organizational and time-management skills.
Detail-oriented, with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to work the third-shift schedule, Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Ability to work overtime.
Successful completion of required background checks and drug screenings.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience using personal protective equipment (PPE).
Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Responsibilities

Perform outlined preventive maintenance on all equipment and make necessary repairs or replacements.
Identify anticipated problems caused by equipment malfunctions and independently initiate appropriate action.
Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical failures and make necessary repairs.
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
Record and maintain a daily account of work accomplishments.
