This is a 12-month position in the maintenance department of the Maryland School for the Deaf – Frederick Campus. This position is designated as Essential Personnel. GRADE ASTD10 LOCATION OF POSITION MSD, Frederick, Campus, 101 Clarke Place, Frederick, MD 21705 Main Purpose of Job The Maintenance Mechanic Senior performs advanced level of work for the maintenance of buildings and agency grounds. Assigns and leads maintenance tasks to semi-skilled and unskilled workers. Conducts final inspections of work performed by semi-skilled staff to ensure compliance with safety standards and trade pest practices. Performs general maintenance tasks such as construction, preventative maintenance, improvements and minor repairs to buildings, fixtures and mechanical equipment, grounds and roadways. Calculates material requirements and estimates labor time for repair projects; maintains detailed maintenance logs and equipment history records.
