Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) - Night Shift
About The Position
This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on a variety of manufacturing and utility equipment. The mechanic will analyze, install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment, utilizing various tools and techniques including welding, rigging, and calibration. The position requires the ability to read technical drawings, operate mobile equipment, and use computerized maintenance software. The role also involves planning machining work, cleaning and lubricating machinery, and performing tasks in various environmental conditions.
Requirements
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations with accuracy.
- Ability to operate mechanical and diaphragm pumps.
- Perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time, lifting, walking, climbing, twisting, stooping.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions on various operating procedures.
- Industrial truck (forklift) or equivalent manual material handling equipment experience.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, including weekend hours, and rotating shifts.
- Proficient in English language with reading, writing, and speaking.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and heights.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to use standard safety equipment and wear all required personal protective equipment (in extremely hot/cold environments).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions as required.
- Ability to reduce time by trouble shooting and fixing mechanical issue.
- Ability to use a computer.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Two or more years college or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Machining Technology, or Welding (associate’s degree preferred), plus (3) years’ experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or equivalent military environment.
Nice To Haves
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) knowledge preferred.
- Welding using TIG, MIG, and STICK is preferred.
- Ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on manufacturing and utility equipment, including motors, pumps, drive chains, belt drives, mechanical seals, gearboxes, clutches, valves, air compressors, and fans.
- Analyze, install, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all equipment to include bushings, sprockets, bearings, adjustable belts, seals, gaskets, or other equipment as needed.
- Use welding equipment, hand tools, power metal saws, drill press, rigging equipment, squares, dial indicators, laser alignment equipment, calipers, micrometers, and other gauges required in millwright work.
- Perform rigging, grinding, welding, and fabrication of equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of equipment and machinery.
- Plan machining work using work orders, drawings, and direct measurements.
- Operate mobile equipment including forklifts and aerial lifts.
- Read blueprints, technical and mechanical drawings, Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) and schematics.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance software to communicate daily work performed and equipment condition.
- Align and calibrate machine parts.
