About The Position

Gopher Resource is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic IV to join their team. This role involves performing maintenance and repair on industrial equipment, contributing to environmental solutions by recycling lead batteries. The position offers training, a competitive salary, and opportunities for growth within a company focused on sustainability and innovation. The role involves working a 12-hour rotating night shift after an initial training period on days. Monthly bonus opportunities are also available.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 8 years of related industrial mechanical experience with the following: predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventative maintenance (PM); lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures; advanced blueprint reading; compressors and pneumatic systems; reverse & laser alignments; troubleshooting & repair of pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and pneumatic equipment.
• Basic welding skills
• Passing of industrial mechanical written AND practical tests
• Passing of all pre-employment testing which includes: Criminal background check, Employment and academic verifications, Drug screen & physical
• Proficient English (reading and writing) and math (adding, subtracting, multiplication) skills
• Must be able to communicate in English language

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment preventive maintenance tasks, and major equipment repairs and adjustments
• Maintain the Equipment Manuals Library
• Perform daily maintenance checks and maintain associated systems
• Respond to equipment-related emergency calls outside of assigned working hours
• Recognize OSHA issues such as pinch points, improperly placed or absent safety guards, blocked exits, horns, and lights, etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems affecting the operation of equipment
• Test and ensure equipment is properly functioning after repairs
• Ensure maintenance tools are clean, secured, and in good working condition; ensure repair and replacements are completed as needed
