About The Position

This position is in Cargill's animal nutrition and health sector, where we improve the lives of animals through better nutrition. Our plant researches, innovates, and creates solutions that produce healthy results for our customers. Following the retirement of one of our members, our team wishes to add a new person to manage all maintenance for our St-Valérien de Milton facilities. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work for Cargill in Canada.
  • A minimum of 18 years old.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Have a D.E.P. in electromechanics or industrial mechanic in Quebec or equivalent Quebec qualification.
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: bending, squatting, climbing ladders, leaning, lifting up to 25 kg, kneeling, climbing, standing for long periods.
  • Ability to work at heights, in hot and/or dusty environments.
  • Open to undergoing further training related to the job.
  • The candidate must be able to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of normal hours, including weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the disassembly, assembly, and routine work of all equipment related to sanitation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Respond to production calls. In addition, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the proper functioning of the equipment. They must ensure that production starts on time.
  • Carry out welding, fabrication, and modification work.
  • Carry out equipment improvement and replacement projects.
  • Repair equipment in the workshop, ensure workshop cleanliness, complete work orders, requisitions, and others.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of components and systems (motors, drives, bearings, gears, clutches, couplings, etc.).
  • Identify problems and determine the causes of breakdowns.
  • Perform basic welding and machining work.
  • Participate in site safety programs and apply company policies.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests (outside of working hours, if required).
  • Manage tools, spare parts, manuals, and consumables.
  • Work at heights (ladders, scaffolding, platforms) with required safety equipment.
  • Other assigned functions.
