About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for completion of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment problems, removing and adjusting defective parts, all in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves performing repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks on critical equipment. The mechanic will initiate corrective maintenance work orders for nonconforming equipment or systems and escalate issues that may affect product quality, safety, or compliance to the Maintenance Manager or Quality Department. This position requires the ability to work independently with little to no supervision and to support cross-functional teams and departments with technical maintenance expertise. Accurate documentation of maintenance activities, findings, and corrective actions in logs and maintenance software is essential to ensure traceability and alignment with quality system requirements. Additional duties may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Team Lead.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret accurately basic mechanical drawings, as well as machine manuals and parts list.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, ladders and platforms
  • Have a working knowledge of measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers and dial indicators.
  • Must have a working knowledge of maintenance shop equipment.
  • Competent computer skills and the ability to learn new software skills (such as the CMMS).
  • Must be able to lift, move, push, or pull up to 50lbs.

  • Stop production equipment when safety or quality risks are identified.
  • Approve completion of maintenance activities in the CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks on critical equipment.
