The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining a good working knowledge of the facility and its components. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions, installing, replacing, or repairing damaged equipment, and calibrating thermostatic controls. The position also includes repairing and replacing parts for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, as well as testing electrical systems for compatibility and safety. The mechanic will monitor and adjust air flows in hospital spaces, perform preventative and routine maintenance, and diagnose/repair various types of medical equipment. This role requires rapid response to emergency situations, proper care of tools and equipment, and utilization of facility computer systems for maintenance records. Other related duties may be assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.
