About The Position

Essential Functions Perform all functions identified under the MMII Job description. Perform maintenance and engineering work order requests as assigned with an advanced or mastered understanding of the systems and equipment needing service Responds with an independent decision making ability to critical and emergency issues Repairs and overhauls Clinic equipment as directed, including pumps, air handler drives, and other supporting systems. Supports building (CMMS) management system / control systems as needed for initial trouble calls and as a tool of application during HVAC troubleshooting process. Aids the Supervisor and Maintenance Manager in work order assignment and follow up, supporting service quality management initiatives. Acts as team leader in the absence of the Supervisor of planned Maintenance Performs HVAC system Preventative Maintenance activities and supports the development of the computer-generated preventative maintenance program on chilled water, DX, and industrial sized air handling systems, including development of equipment inventory, bar code applications, data entry, and Preventative Maintenance documentation. Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes. Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed; connect motors to control panels. Install and calibrate systems; install copper tubing and repair pipes and tubing as necessary; test joints and insulate pipes of refrigeration and air conditioning systems; flush boilers, descale tubing; rebuild pressure and temperature safety valves and water pumps. Supports the fire response team (Code Red) Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent. Specialized vocational training in maintenance field a plus. Completion of technical courses in electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical HVAC / air handing equipment
  • Must possess a higher level of mechanical aptitude and progressive proven skills in mechanical and electrical systems. Must have experience in using maintenance and testing equipment conducive with a MMIII job classification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2 year Associate of Science Degree program, or completion of a 2 year vocational program related to building maintenance / building systems technology.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry’s building maintenance field after/or in conjunction with program attendance.
