About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. Here, you will make an impact by: Leading maintenance projects from start to finish, supporting plant operations and building functions, working individually or as a team, and creating a supporting and respectful workplace. Provide own personal hand tools. Measure and calculate for complex installations. Work from and understand prints, drawings, and sketches. Able to conceive and execute innovative solutions to mechanical and/or electrical maintenance problems. Set up and correctly and efficiently operate all types of portable and stationary shop equipment and tools. Have a working understanding of shop equipment setup and operation for different materials. Skillfully construct, repair, modify or rebuild all plant equipment, jigs, fixtures, and related tools as required including fine and detailed work. Position requires operating plant and maintenance equipment. Can demonstrate skill in maintenance functions, truck repairs, carpentry, heat treating, cutting, welding, pipe fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, (electrical a plus) and rigging. This job requires climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding. It also may require lifting/working in awkward/difficult conditions, climbing into tight/confined areas. This job requires safety equipment to be worn as necessary. It includes such items as safety shoes, hearing protection, eye protection, respirators, welder’s face shield/goggles and clothing. Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of Maintenance experience
  • Work Shift: Nights with flexibility to support 24/7 operations (overtime and call-ins as needed)
  • Current, valid Driver’s License
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
  • Applicants who meet the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, trade certification from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience in disciplines such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, welding, wastewater and hydraulics
