The Maintenance Mechanic II performs routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery. This role involves replacing or repairing parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches, as well as replacing electrical parts and equipment. The mechanic will observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble, dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, and examine parts for imperfections and dimensional changes. Adjustments to functional parts and control instruments, repair or replacement of defective parts, and installation of special functional and structural parts are key duties. The role also includes lubricating and cleaning parts, testing device performance, and initiating purchase orders for parts and machines. Participation in an on-call program and potential for additional hours are required. The position also involves performing other related duties, following all safety rules and procedures, and observing operations to ensure a safe environment.
