About The Position

Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance required to maintain the physical structure and equipment in the most reliable and economical operating condition. Responsible for responding quickly to any internal disaster and take charge at the scene until relieved by competent authority. Responsible for following budget restraints when ordering and using parts and materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years building mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff personnel.
  • Ability to work dependably with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to inspect equipment and/or systems and to identify conditions requiring correction or intervention.
  • Working knowledge of common hand tools and test equipment used by maintenance craft.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to general safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematic diagrams and drawings.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and prepare simple specifications.
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing systems, including compressed gas, potable water, drain-waste-vent systems, steam and condensate systems, electrical generation, distribution and utilization systems and equipment. Also, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, both central and package type systems.
  • Ability to perform mechanical, carpentry and plumbing repairs.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency calls on off-duty hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Ten (10) years experience in hospital maintenance work.
