About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic II will be responsible for daily troubleshooting and repair of robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues associated with the manufacturing processes. The Maintenance Mechanic II will also provide technical assistance to special projects as required, as well as support repair and maintenance of the facilities, its infrastructure and grounds.

Requirements

  • Technical or associate degree or a minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in maintaining industrial equipment (robotics, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution.
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations as they apply to an industrial maintenance role (OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO, NEC, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and machine specifications.
  • Solid PC familiarity, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven ability to work and effectively communicate in a team environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain certifications for operation of service equipment; fork lift, overhead crane, platform lift, boom lift and others as needed.
  • Ability to be flexible, supporting work on projects and the daily maintenance needs of manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience on equipment and automation consistent with a sheet metal fabrication and painting operation.
  • A technical or Associates Degree in a maintenance related field is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with a positive demeanor to all Spacesaver team members.
  • Perform maintenance-related activities of equipment, buildings, and grounds safely and proficiently.
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment breakdowns. When needed, effectively communicate issues to OEM vendors and external resources to rapidly identify and resolve them.
  • Perform Standard Work by following Work/Operator Instructions/Training.
  • Suggest changes to and perform modifications of existing Spacesaver equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
  • Assist in concepting and fabricating mechanical structures, guards, and special equipment as required.
  • Attend training to learn techniques for maintenance of new and existing equipment.
  • Perform safe and effective operation of lathes, vertical mills, pipe threaders, conduit benders, hydraulic presses, pneumatic and electric hand tools, material handling equipment, welders, plasma arc & cutting torches.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and engineers on special projects.
  • Complete all required safety training.
