About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance duties throughout the building and grounds, including light carpentry, electrical, pipe fitting, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, landscaping, and snow removal. The role also involves maintaining building security and supporting the Culture of Excellence through assigned neighborhood initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO).
Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
Have reliable transportation to and from work.
Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly” service-oriented, team, cooperative demeanor and supports Culture of Excellence initiatives by interactions with co-workers and/or Members.
Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies.

Nice To Haves

Two to three years of HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance work.

Responsibilities

Carries out maintenance duties (repairs, painting, and carpentry, and heavy cleaning) as assigned.
Performs preventive maintenance duties according to schedule on all Home vehicles and equipment.
Keeps daily record of duties performed to be submitted to supervisor.
Clears snow from walks and parking areas.
Maintains building security.
Reports to fire zone when alarm sounds.
Serves as switchboard backup when necessary.
Participates in in-service education and safety programs.
Performs other duties as required by the supervisor or by Administration from time to time.
