About The Position

Oil States Houma is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Maintenance Mechanic II. This role is responsible for performing maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment, systems, structures, and production machinery. The position involves a variety of tasks aimed at minimizing downtime and ensuring efficient operation of equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years prior experience performing mechanical work on similar equipment and machinery.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, welding, and general maintenance work.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical charts.
  • Basic mathematical and measurement computations applicable to the craft.
  • Good verbal communication and reading skills.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, cranes, cutting torches, and other equipment common to the trade.
  • Ability to follow simple and complex instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks including pulling/pushing, bending, standing, throwing, kneeling, balancing, carrying, sitting, walking, crawling, crouching, reaching, climbing, unnatural body positioning, and working in a confined space.

Responsibilities

  • Perform broad tasks including rebuilding machine tools, servicing vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
  • Overhaul troublesome components and attachments.
  • Repair hand and power tools.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment and effect repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with more complex projects.
  • Diagnose problems by consulting blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manufacturers' instruction manuals.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of machinery, vehicles, cranes, and other equipment.
  • Conduct facility maintenance and repair, including painting, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, concrete work, welding, and general maintenance.
  • Produce quality work in an efficient manner.
  • Install new equipment.
  • Process appropriate paperwork.
  • Provide instruction to operators or junior mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
