About The Position

Performs facility and equipment maintenance at the hospital’s main campus and hospital owned off-site facilities. Examples of “maintenance” are: Inspection of electrical and mechanical equipment to detect malfunctions, Cleaning of electrical and mechanical equipment (coils, motors, drain pans, etc.), Installation of electrical circuits, piping for water and drain lines, etc. Sound knowledge of reading and utilizing blue prints. Responds to and makes repairs from maintenance calls for blocked drain lines, malfunctioning ice machines, HVAC units, etc. Changing oil in compressors, air filters in HVAC units, cleaning cooling towers, etc. Inspection of wheelchairs, beds, furniture, etc. and repairing the same. Making “rounds” to ensure compliance with Life Safety Codes and department policies. Efficiently manages time, completes task assigned including accurate documentation. Sound understanding of using electrical testing equipment. Assist Mechanic II’s when requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum Type Level I and II refrigerant transition and recovery certification required within six months of hire.
  • This position requires driving a hospital-owned vehicle and/or a personally owned vehicle to perform the essential job duties.
  • Must have a valid and current state issued driver’s license.
  • Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence.
  • Clearance of driving record check.
  • Driving records shall not contain any of the following within the past 3 years: 3 or more moving violations, 2 or more accidents, 1 major violation

Nice To Haves

  • Three years preferred in two or more building crafts, such as plumbing, commercial electric work, refrigeration and air conditioning, pneumatics, etc.
  • Sound knowledge of reading and utilizing blue prints
  • Sound understanding of using electrical testing equipment
