About The Position

Performs maintenance and repair of building facilities. Must perform tasks that span many trades, including, but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, painting, and plumbing. Must be willing to work overtime as the requirement may rise. Is subject to being recalled to the campus for “after hours” work.

• Is subject to being recalled to the campus for “after hours” work.
• Uses various hand and yard tools & equipment to perform assigned tasks.
• Tests equipment periodically to analyze, evaluate and correct malfunctions with various systems, devices and/or instruments.
• Completes work orders, equipment logs and other documentation.
• Maintains the work area in a neat, efficient and safe condition by cleaning up after each job and properly storing items and/or test equipment.
• Exhibits an awareness of safety requirements and practices in everyday tasks.

Responsibilities

• Independently determines the need and performs basic repairs, service and related work on mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment.
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and adjustments of selected equipment and fixtures as well as operational testing and verification to specific standards.
• Performs building maintenance tasks, applying an understanding of the University needs as well as the operational and safety limitations of building systems and equipment.
• Uses various hand and yard tools & equipment to perform assigned tasks. Tests equipment periodically to analyze, evaluate and correct malfunctions with various systems, devices and/or instruments.
• Completes work orders, equipment logs and other documentation.
