About The Position
Ashton Lewis Lumber Company, a producer of Southern Yellow Pine since 1952, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Helper. This role involves assisting mechanics with repairs on sawmill and production equipment, performing basic mechanical tasks, and maintaining a clean work environment. The company emphasizes quality, integrity, and strong customer and employee relationships.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools and PPE
- Willingness/ability to learn on the job under supervision.

- Lumber experience a plus!
Responsibilities
- Observes all safety requirements including wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Assist mechanics with repairs on sawmill equipment and other production equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Deliver and stage parts and tools to job sites throughout the mill.
- Follow LOTO and all other mill safety protocols during maintenance activities.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
