About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic II for our Foley, AL Location. You will perform a variety of work to maintain CNC machines, mechanical equipment, and the structure of our facilities, to ensure all is in good condition. Duties may involve machine repair, carpentry, painting, welding, plumbing, and sheet metal work. This position requires working onsite at our Foley, AL facility. You will perform maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility mechanical components and electrical systems. Install, diagnose, and repair of electrical 120VAC, 240 VAC, 480VAC, single and three phase systems with a variety of test equipment, i.e., digital multi-meter. Perform machine repair and general preventative maintenance on equipment in compliance with preventative maintenance programs. Provide support in the development and implementation of facility and equipment upgrades. Maintain all paperwork to document repair and preventative maintenance work that is completed. Comply with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies. Required to pass a respiratory certification upon hire. Will be required to work at heights, with chemicals and in confined spaces. Work with limited supervision to complete assigned tasks as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Will train on 1st shift (primary) 6:00AM – 2:30PM for 2-3 weeks before permanent move to 2nd shift 2:00PM – 10:30PM.

Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in troubleshooting electrical, HVAC, automotive, pneumatic and/or mechanical machinery equipment and repair of equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating and maintaining wastewater treatment systems, including use of pH, conductivity, and hardness testing equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience maintaining and servicing vacuum furnaces using vacuum theory, technology, and application.
  • Experience performing welding and fabrication tasks for repair or custom builds.
  • Experience programming, diagnosing, and repairing basic PLC control systems.
  • Experience operating and maintaining CNC equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing math calculations involving geometry, decimals, and fractions in practical applications.
  • Experience using machining tools and equipment to perform basic part fabrication or modifications.
  • Experience with working with electrical, mechanical, or avionics/aerospace systems in the military
