About The Position

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains the facility, machinery, and equipment, and performs related duties as assigned. The position repairs and maintains industrial machines and equipment, sets up and orders replacement parts, welds and fabricates machinery, makes machinery adjustments, and cleans and lubricates production equipment. Other duties may include finish carpentry, painting projects, and drawing prints. Regular punctuality, attendance, and compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines are essential.

Requirements

Considerable experience, training, and/or education in the repair and maintenance of industrial machinery.
At least five years of welding experience.
Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques used to repair and maintain production machines.
Basic knowledge of electricity and basic painting skills.
Ability to clean, lubricate, and maintain production equipment.
Considerable knowledge of tools and materials used to repair and maintain industrial machinery.
Ability to operate hand, power, and welding tools.
Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures.
Ability to understand and follow work instructions.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance and repair specifications.
Finish carpentry skills.
Ability to read, follow, and draw basic layout prints.
Ability to bend, reach, stretch, lift, move, and carry tools and materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance; assistance from a coworker or lifting equipment is required for items weighing over 25 pounds.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Company certification to operate a forklift is required.
Safety shoes are required; soft-sole shoes are required when working on the roof.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain machines, parts, and equipment, including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, bag houses, dust collectors, blast booths, and hoists.
Set up, identify, and order replacement parts, and perform repairs in accordance with specifications and guidelines.
Weld and fabricate machinery.
Make adjustments to machinery as needed.
Clean and lubricate production machinery as needed.
Perform finish carpentry as needed.
Perform painting projects as needed.
Draw prints as needed.
Maintain punctuality and attendance and report absences in accordance with company policies.
Comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
