About The Position

Foster Farms is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic A to help ensure equipment operates safely and optimally. The role involves expert troubleshooting and repair, efficient preventive maintenance, and professional interaction with production staff, coworkers, vendors, and contractors. The position supports the company’s ready-to-eat business and its goals of delivering safe, high-quality food.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, positive-displacement (PD) pumps, and progressive-cavity pumps; understanding of gear ratios and speeds.
• Knowledge of hand tools and ability to operate power tools, a drill press, and a hydraulic press.
• Ability to perform quality horizontal welds using MIG, TIG, and ARC.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and ability to use a multimeter, tape measure, and torque wrench in ft-lb and in-lb.
• Basic knowledge of three-phase motors, motor controls, wrapping, and food-processing equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Good understanding of safe work practices and knowledge of OSHA standards.
• Ability to read, understand, and implement written instructions and procedures in English.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively in a group setting and independently.
• Ability to work flexible hours and all three shifts.
• Detail orientation and strong mathematical aptitude; must pass a Math/Reading Comprehensive test.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, 8–10 hours, on concrete or metal-grate flooring and work in cold conditions.
