About The Position

Join our team at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health in Tukwila! As a Maintenance Mechanic 3 within the Maintenance & Operations Division (MOD), you’ll play an important role in keeping buildings, facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems safe, functional, and well maintained. This position performs skilled work across multiple trades, with an opportunity to apply expertise in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC, and mechanical repair. Your work will directly support a safe and reliable environment for the people and staff we serve. This position will be primarily stationed at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health in Tukwila, with additional support provided to Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility in Burien, WA.

Requirements

  • Completed a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanical trade AND One year of experience as a journey-level worker performing building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
  • OR Three years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic 2 or equivalent journey-level trade experience.

  • Knowledge and skill in building maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction.
  • Knowledge of multiple skilled trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, welding, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify appropriate repair solutions, and perform preventive and emergency maintenance.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety practices, fire codes, building codes, and procedures for maintaining safe and compliant facilities.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and grounds maintenance equipment while accurately documenting work performed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance, repair, remodeling, and modification of buildings, facilities, mechanical equipment, machinery, and related systems.
  • Apply knowledge and skills across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, machinist work, and HVAC.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building fixtures, including pipes, valves, drains, basins, faucets, thermostats, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on a variety of equipment and systems, including HVAC, steam, laundry, kitchen, hospital, and laboratory equipment.
  • Inspect and monitor building systems, safety and fire protection equipment, and environmental controls to ensure they remain in satisfactory operating condition and comply with applicable codes.
  • Repair and maintain building components and grounds equipment, including doors, windows, screens, floors, painted surfaces, lawn equipment, and other facility-related items.
  • Respond to service requests, troubleshoot maintenance problems, operate hand and power tools, document work and materials in the Asset Planner system, and perform Maintenance Mechanic 2 duties as needed.
