About The Position

The Mechanic 2, who reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, maintains, repairs,
and replaces various hospital equipment, operates standby equipment in case of
plant systems failure, repairs mechanical failures in the fire alarm system,
repairs food preparation equipment, and maintains and repairs the hospital air
conditioning system in an effort to ensure patient, visitor, and employee
comfort. The Mechanic 2 repairs various electrical equipment, performs basic
plumbing repairs, maintains required maintenance records and information,
attends meetings, participates on committees, and if a Locksmith, installs locks
and door hardware, cuts keys, rekeys locks, and performs evening fire door
checks in an effort toward promoting a safe and reliable environment for the
provision of quality health care services.
