Under the supervision of the Region Construction & Maintenance Supervisor, this position serves as a member of the Northwest Region maintenance team in the maintenance and construction of planned, preventative and deferred maintenance projects throughout the Pacific Northwest assisting Parks from Tacoma to the Canadien border, including all the San Juan Islands. The Maintenance Mechanic 1 is responsible for coordinating and performing new construction, renovation, remodel, repair, inspection, and maintenance of State Park buildings, facilities, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. This position is not eligible to telework, as physical on-site presence is required to perform essential functions. This position requires travel and overnight travel. Percentage of travel varies based on season and work required but can be up to 50-80% of the time between parks and statewide for meetings, training, and other field work.
