About The Position

The Maintenance Manager acts as an advisor, interprets policies, develops schedules, and may have budget responsibilities. Decisions made in this role can significantly impact work processes and outcomes, with potential for serious delays and resource expenditure if errors occur. The role requires frequent interaction with internal and external personnel to resolve operational and scheduling issues.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams or skilled trades.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in production settings.
  • Experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a CMMS.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is a plus; equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Manages repair and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment including: Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing facilities infrastructure.
  • Making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations.
  • Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions.
  • Directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others, and mobilizing resources.
  • Monitoring and achievement of operational and/or financial results for their area of responsibility.
  • People management actions such as hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees.
  • Adapting departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges.
  • Solving problems following operational policies; understands the broader impact across the department.
  • Acting as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Applying understanding of the business and how area of responsibility integrates with other areas to achieve department objectives.
  • Interpreting and administering policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units.
  • Developing and administering schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
  • Following all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Reporting to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participating in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Following all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Reporting any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
