About The Position

The Maintenance Manager position will lead a multi-site team of maintenance associates, as well as potentially supervise Area Maintenance Managers, and ensure a safe working environment for all. The Maintenance Manager will support the Operations team by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric. This role involves developing and designing innovative solutions to difficult problems, managing outside contractors, and being on call for emergencies. The position requires handling multiple internal and externally sponsored projects and daily activities, managing to and meeting deadlines, and developing & tracking plans on how to accomplish departmental and distribution goals. The Maintenance Manager will work with local site Safety department leadership to understand, implement, and audit safety programs, ensuring that all safety programs and procedures are followed. Developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with operations leadership is key. The role includes facilitating technical and safety training, as well as helping to develop the professional development of departmental facilities associates. Mentoring all maintenance associates by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals and making a consistent effort to go above and beyond is expected. The Maintenance Manager will develop Maintenance department business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans. Collaboration with the site Finance team to develop, set and track budgets is required. Participation in and support of efficiency improvement Kaizen activities for the site, as well as the network when needed, is part of the role. Developing capital spending plans, facilitating cross-functional project planning, and performing cost analysis are also responsibilities. Owning and promoting excellent housekeeping is essential. The role involves participating in weekly network Maintenance calls and periodic Maintenance Manager off-site conferences. Candidates must have the ability to provide specific, enriched feedback to enhance individual performance, and provide associates with written performance appraisals including discipline and up to termination. Travel up to 20% at a minimum is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Ability to travel up to 20% at a minimum.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil)
  • Ability to travel to various sites as needed.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
