POSITION SUMMARY: Direct hands-on mechanical and electrical hourly and salaried employee(s) to meet short and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency. Plan maintenance/capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities. Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established. Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization. Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented. Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant. Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to measure implementation and progress of goals. Drive a culture of change from reactive to proactive in the approach to asset management and reliability. Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) initiatives and awareness programs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electrical power infrastructure and process control systems
  • Demonstrated management and financial leadership experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
  • Good understanding of safety, environmental, and the desire to following all established procedures are required.
  • Forward looking action-oriented team player that works well with cross functional groups
  • Displays sound judgment when deciding among multiple alternatives
  • Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and communication skills, proven problem-solving skills and can think “outside the box”
  • Must be capable of work any shift, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed.
  • Solid daily attendance is required.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance Engineering, or a technical-related field or demonstrated skills and ability and/or equivalent work experience in the field is desired.
  • Must have 1-3
  • Must have at least five to seven years of previous proven hands-on maintenance leadership experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing, construction, and/or mining environment.
  • Previous electrical or mechanical experience is required.
  • Development and implementation of reliability systems and programs are desired.

Nice To Haves

  • BS Degree in Engineering or a relevant / related field; with strong electrical, PLC control, and Mechanical Maintenance background.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Engineer, Project, Process, Mechanical Maintenance Planner Maintenance Supervisor Production Manager
  • Previous lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reliability and availability of plant assets and equipment
  • Directs and prioritizes needed repairs
  • Regularly advises production/plant management of needed equipment status and repair
  • Leads the identification of and resolution of equipment failures
  • Allocates resources appropriately in the face of competing demands
  • Effectively manage the selection and utilization of contractors
  • Champion maintenance department communications
  • Communicate effectively with all maintenance employees
  • Clearly establish and communicate the vision for the department
  • Creates a culture of trust and open communication
  • Leadership and Development of Maintenance Staff (Electricians and Mechanics)
  • Provide hands-on structure, direction, and feedback to the maintenance team
  • Readily share information and develop the maintenance team by delegating to their strengths
  • Set clear guidelines and expectations for the maintenance team
  • Be a positive leader that encourages cross-functional communication.
  • Drive culture change from reactive to proactive in the approach to asset management and reliability.
  • Provide clear and honest feedback to direct reports and those managed through projects
  • Establish and communicate clear roles and job performance expectations
  • Direct Maintenance, electrical, and engineering to meet short-and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency.
  • Plan maintenance/capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities.
  • Ensure annual outages are planned, scheduled, executed, and closed.
  • Meet reliability, efficiencies, and cost objectives as planned and budgeted.
  • Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established.
  • Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented.
  • Implement spares management best practices.
  • Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant
  • Environmental, Health and Safety
  • Lead by example and demonstrate EH&S leadership
  • Ensures compliance of the maintenance team with all EH&S standards, programs and requirements
  • Monitors workplace to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Demonstrate environmental and safety regulatory leadership.
  • Support Environmental Health and Safety initiatives and awareness programs.
  • Ensure employees have a clear understanding of expected safety performance.
  • Be a leader and promoter of a safety culture
  • Responsible for the facilities’ Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and current good manufacturing practices
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned.
