This role involves developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all essential shop functions, managing the maintenance department budget, and overseeing the inspection, repair, and servicing of all fleet tractors and trailers. The Maintenance Manager will work with the safety department to train all maintenance employees in OSHA and safety procedures, promote quality and continuous improvement, and manage equipment preventive maintenance service intervals and records. Responsibilities also include ensuring that working areas are properly maintained, cleaned, and OSHA compliant, and adhering to inventory control, security, safety, and shop policies. The manager will write and implement SOPs on tractor and trailer maintenance, hire and train a staff of four maintenance clerks located in different cities, and manage their daily operations. The position requires managing the work of employees in the maintenance department to ensure accurate and timely completion, performing PM scheduling, parts purchasing, and inventory control, and being available during 24/7 operations.
