About The Position

Sofidel Tissue of Las Vegas is seeking a Maintenance Manager for a long-term role in a stable environment. The Maintenance Manager will be an essential part of the team, supporting the converting department with organized mechanical maintenance programs, including safety, process improvement, and project management. This role involves supervising technicians and mechanics, coordinating work, and ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 3 years of management experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong sense of job ownership/accountability.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the paper manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee personnel and contractors for equipment maintenance and servicing within the converting department.
  • Check daily production logs and track the progress of technician work orders, closing them out upon completion.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate repairs, services, and maintenance, setting priorities for maintenance and work orders.
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repairs, potentially aiding with vibration analysis or mechanical testing.
  • Organize maintenance tasks and conduct daily meetings.
  • Purchase supplies for the converting mill, machine parts, and project work.
  • Review and analyze equipment failures, liaise with vendors, improve equipment reliability, and inspect equipment.
  • Maintain inventory, including a supply of commonly used spare parts, and reconcile costs with production.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and outside vendors, ensuring tasks are completed within allotted shutdown durations.
  • Support production supervisors, department technicians, and mechanics.
  • Interview candidates, review resumes, and recommend hiring and termination of employees.
  • Determine training needs for equipment operations and safety, and arrange for training.
  • Complete performance evaluations for the converting maintenance department.
  • Perform or assist with any operations to maintain workflow, equipment, schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work area, comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, and keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay informed on new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate regularly with management and subordinates regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, and plans.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
