About The Position

As the Aviation Maintenance Manager at Weyerhaeuser, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient aircraft maintenance activities for our Part 133 and Part 137 operations. Leading with safety as our top priority, you will oversee team leadership, shop schedule management, workflow optimization, work order oversight, interdepartmental communications, and quality control for multiple Weyerhaeuser hangars in the Oregon and Washington area. Reporting directly to the Aviation Operations Manager, you will implement strategic objectives, operating plans, and policies that ensure both aircraft integrity and fiscal responsibility while maintaining a culture of safety and excellence that aligns with our core values. This position is based in McMinnville, Oregon with occasional travel to other locations throughout western Oregon and Washington. The Aviation Maintenance Manager leads and develops maintenance teams with a strong emphasis on safety, accountability, and operational excellence. This role drives a culture of continuous improvement through performance management, professional development, and effective communication across all shifts and locations. The manager oversees staffing and hiring efforts, collaborates with senior leadership on long term maintenance strategies, and represents the organization’s commitment to safety and best practices both internally and with industry peers. In addition, the role is responsible for efficient shop operations, workflow planning, and regulatory compliance. This includes pre planning maintenance projects, managing work orders, controlling budgets and labor efficiency, and optimizing resources to minimize aircraft downtime. The manager ensures maintenance documentation meets all regulatory requirements, maintains high safety and quality standards across locations, oversees FAA and company compliance, and conducts audits with corrective actions to support consistent, high quality maintenance outcomes.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a Maintenance Manager or comparable supervisory role within Part 133 and/or Part 137 operations.
  • Working knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, including Parts 91, 133, and 137.
  • Proven experience with maintenance scheduling, work order management, maintenance tracking systems, and electronic record keeping.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rotor wing aircraft systems, including platforms such as the Sikorsky UH 60L, Bell 206, and Bell 212.
  • Demonstrated capability in maintenance planning, budgeting, labor management, and resource allocation.
  • Track record of maintaining regulatory compliance and high standards of safety and quality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and aviation maintenance management software.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and pre-employment screening.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Experience supporting aerial firefighting and/or herbicide and pesticide application operations.
  • Experience managing maintenance operations across multiple or geographically dispersed locations.
