Under general supervision and the direction of the Operations and Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Manager oversees and manages the District’s maintenance work groups. This position is responsible for the day-to-day function of the maintenance department and work groups, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Manager plans, coordinates, and supervises the activities of the maintenance department to ensure District systems and assets are maintained in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The role includes managing budgets, planning for both long-term and immediate operational needs, responding to emergencies, and coordinating work with contractors. The Maintenance Manager ensures adherence to safety protocols and maintains positive community relations. This position directly supervises the Electrical, Mechanical, and Facilities Maintenance supervisors, providing day-to-day supervision and development for the maintenance supervisors in managing and owning their individual work group results. This position will ensure the long-term reliability of plant and collection system equipment through maintenance scheduling, project development, and equipment replacement. This position is also responsible for managing the district’s fleet and apprenticeship programs. In addition, this position will use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to review plant maintenance reports and operating data, and direct efforts of staff to ensure economical operations and repairs. This position will also be responsible for coordinating maintenance projects with District departments as well as external contractors and vendors. This position provides oversight of relevant maintenance data and reports (to include review of data quality, updating and creating Internal Process Numbers (IPNs), and creating and updating reports). This position will also be expected to provide oversight and coordination in working through unusual maintenance problems, special project evolutions and shutdowns/start-ups, and tackling urgent needs for assistance. The successful candidate must demonstrate a growth mindset in navigating a dynamic, mission-driven operation, while remaining committed to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The Maintenance Manager is a key member of the division leadership team, working closely with the Reliability Process Manager, Ecosystems Manager, Collection Systems Manager, and the Treatment Plant Manager. Also serves as a technical subject matter expert in support of District projects and programs.
