The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the shop safety policy, procedures, and regulations are implemented, and a safe working environment is provided in all maintenance areas. This role coordinates with the Operations Department to ensure vehicle readiness, implements corrective actions to maximize vehicle availability, and minimizes late pull-outs. The Manager ensures the implementation of a detailed Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) program for all vehicle types, operating facilities, and equipment, compliant with OEM, Client, and Keolis Standards. They will also ensure the achievement of all maintenance-related contract performance standards, leverage knowledge of contractual maintenance requirements and collective bargaining agreements to direct operations in a compliant and fiscally responsible manner, and utilize performance measures to manage mechanic productivity, efficiency, and accountability, implementing continuous improvement plans. Compliance with Keolis’ Maintenance and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures, including PMI Audits, is essential. The role involves performing root cause analyses for road calls, late pulls, and vehicle readiness issues, adjusting processes to prevent recurring problems, and ensuring maintenance technicians are properly trained, equipped, and motivated. The Manager is responsible for scheduling employees, supervising mechanics and shop workers, conducting toolbox meetings, and overseeing hiring, discipline, salary adjustments, training, employee development, work direction, grievance handling, and performance reviews. They will approve the priority of maintenance and repairs, oversee the development of efficient repair schedules, review repair cost estimates, coordinate work performed by outside vendors, and control/monitor inventory of parts, tires, lubricants, and fuel. The position also involves scheduling and administering fleet maintenance, troubleshooting equipment problems, ensuring day-to-day compliance with State, Federal, Company, and Client requirements, and participating in budget development and administration. Collaboration with the location general manager and regional maintenance management on maintenance status and budget requirements, reviewing financial variances, repair orders, and approving accounts payable documents are also key duties. Special projects as assigned and performing hands-on work activities are required, along with other duties as needed.
