About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing leadership in safety and continuous improvement, ensuring the longevity and care of plant equipment, buildings, and operations. This role involves managing a maintenance team, overseeing preventative maintenance systems, coordinating schedules, planning and executing repairs and installations, managing vendor relationships, and implementing engineering changes. The manager will also be responsible for waste water processes, city water department relations, critical spare parts inventory, and capital expenditure projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed vocational school Industrial Maintenance program OR five years (minimum) work experience in the field of Industrial Maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment, building and plant operations are SAFE and in good working condition.
  • Provide clear direction and consistent supervision to all of your Maintenance Team members.
  • Maintain and improve the Preventative Maintenance System (PMS).
  • Measure and record screw/rotor and barrel/chamber wear – take action as needed.
  • Coordinate, assign and direct daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedules.
  • Plan, organize and execute tasks and/or repairs.
  • Implement engineering changes to equipment as necessary.
  • Responsible for repairs of equipment in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for installations of new and existing equipment.
  • Responsible for waste water process and City Water Department relations (if applicable).
  • Work with Contractors, Vendors, OEM Suppliers and Machine Shops.
  • Work with local power, gas and water departments.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms for parts and equipment.
  • Manage Critical Spare Parts inventory – organize storage.
  • Predict parts orders as needed due to performance wear and fatigue of equipment.
  • Schedule delivery of parts and equipment as needed.
  • Schedule and implement at least two plant shut downs each year for preventative maintenance.
  • Serve as a permanent member of the RMA Safety Committee.
  • Create and track performance data points for equipment when needed.
  • Implement employee training where areas are needed.
  • Demonstrate skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematic diagrams and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely manner.
  • Manage asset tracking and disposal of old equipment.
  • Implement capital expenditure projects on-time, on-budget, right the first time and safely.
  • Maintain tools and gages in good working condition and well organized.

  • Perform monthly budget tracking for repair expenses.
