About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will oversee waterpark maintenance operations to achieve objectives for ride maintenance, ride checks, repairs, costs, guest service satisfaction, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems. The manager will also oversee and perform day-to-day operations of the Maintenance department, evaluate systems for maintenance needs, assess building systems to plan work, and ensure timely and correct completion of maintenance and repair work. A key responsibility is ensuring all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition by following manufacturer's preventative maintenance programs and performing personal inspections. The role also focuses on guest experience, ensuring all guests feel welcome and receive friendly service, and that waterpark rides are inspected daily, weekly, and monthly. The manager will prepare necessary paperwork, manage audits and inspections, operate and maintain related equipment, and ensure the waterpark is maintained to avoid guest inconvenience due to repairs. Coordination and execution of safe work practices, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and keeping records of activities are also essential. The position requires performing water tests and chemical analysis, working shifts as needed, being available for on-call emergencies, maintaining and purchasing supplies with approval, and filling in where needed to ensure service standards and efficient operations. Completion of required training and understanding of company policies and procedures are mandatory. Other duties as assigned by management may also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of maintenance experience required.
  • Must be able to traverse property, equipment and facility to diagnose building or ride issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Possible heavy workloads; exerting over 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or other wise move objects.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching involved.
  • Must be able to work in warm/humid settings and hot/humid weather for outdoor waterpark environments.
  • Be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • May be required to be exposed to all types of weather.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year waterpark maintenance experience, preferred.
  • HVAC, Plumbing and Electric experience, preferred.
  • CPO certification or have the ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee waterpark maintenance operations necessary to achieve stated objectives for ride maintenance, ride checks, repairs, costs, guest service satisfaction, safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as necessary.
  • Oversee and perform the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance department.
  • Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Assess building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the ride manufacturer's preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Ensure that all waterpark rides are inspected daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Prepare all required paperwork as necessary.
  • Manage and assist with tasks related to audits and inspections by outside agencies.
  • Operate, maintain, and service all related pumps, motors, valves, vessels, filters, chemical feed equipment, and other miscellaneous mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Assign and supervise other associates in the same.
  • Ensure the waterpark is maintained so that guests are not inconvenienced because of repairs.
  • Responsible for coordination and execution of safe work practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all work areas.
  • Maintain records of all activities performed during the shift.
  • Perform required tests and chemical analysis on water.
  • Work shifts as needed and be available for on-call status for emergencies, as directed by management.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies for the waterpark and make purchases when necessary with manager approvals.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Complete and stay current in all training as required by Human Resources and the waterpark maintenance and qualifications requirements.
  • Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs of the Company.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by the management team.
