About The Position

LSSI is growing and seeking a Maintenance Manager for Joshua Arms. This role involves overseeing and performing routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repairs for buildings and grounds. The position requires reporting needs for major repairs, completing specifications, and capital documentation. It also involves developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program, ensuring prompt resident apartment turnover preparations, and performing on-call services and emergency responses. The Maintenance Manager will provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff, demonstrating professional and positive behavior while treating all individuals with dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) or three (3) to five (5) years experience in general and/or residential maintenance required.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Willingness and ability to participate/obtain HUD, LSSI, OSHA, NSPIRE/REAC, etc. related training required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Good organization and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school or technical training preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in general and/or residential maintenance preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and may perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties and repair of buildings and grounds.
  • Report needs for major repairs, compete specifications, and capital documentation as required by LSSI and HUD.
  • Follow all standards regarding safety, licensing, regulatory and agency requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure prompt resident apartment turnover preparations.
  • Perform on-call services as scheduled and respond promptly to emergencies.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
