About The Position

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of Ted Kuhn Towers and other supported housing sites. If you’re passionate about building operations, team leadership, and making a tangible difference every day, we want to hear from you! Reporting to the Senior Property Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective operation, safety, and maintenance of all assigned housing sites by overseeing preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance activities. This includes leading the Mobile Maintenance Team, managing work orders, coordinating inspections, and maintaining building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety. The role also involves close collaboration with property and program managers, managing vendor contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, participating in safety committees, and responding to urgent maintenance issues. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager will oversee inventory control, contribute to budget planning, and supervise and support the development of maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience in maintenance or facilities management.
  • Minimum of two years of experience supervising staff or contractors.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.
  • Access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Current WHMIS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems.
  • Hands-on maintenance skills, including the ability to perform and oversee minor repairs.
  • Highly organized and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in using maintenance software and common office applications.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Undergo a Police Information Check (PIC).
  • Undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within social or supportive housing.
  • Formal training or certification in building maintenance.
