About The Position

First American Resources is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager with a strong electrical background, extensive PLC troubleshooting experience, and proven leadership skills. This role focuses on electrical controls and automation, but also requires understanding the mechanical side of industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will lead a skilled maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focusing on solving complex problems, improving equipment reliability, developing technicians, and making a measurable impact on production. First American Resources has been a leader in the coil coating industry since 1975, applying high-performance coatings to rolled steel and aluminum for various markets.

Requirements

  • Strong background in industrial electrical systems
  • Extensive PLC troubleshooting and programming experience (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Experience with HMI systems and industrial controls
  • Mechanical maintenance knowledge in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Ability to lead by example and work alongside technicians when needed
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing maintenance management experience
  • Experience with VFDs, motors, sensors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Experience with Ignition, Wonderware, or similar systems
  • Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma experience
  • Experience with industrial networking and automation systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, PLC, controls, and automation issues
  • Support mechanical troubleshooting and equipment reliability
  • Drive equipment uptime and reduce downtime
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Manage maintenance priorities while supporting production needs
  • Plan equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain electrical safety and OSHA compliance
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations to improve plant performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians
  • Schedule work assignments and prioritize maintenance activities
  • Conduct performance coaching and employee development
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with production leadership to maximize equipment reliability
