About The Position

Execute preventative maintenance tasks to the specification listed on the PM task list and follow up on work orders for repairs. Execute welding, machining and fabrication tasks; not to include Zone 1 sanitary welding. Execute root cause failure analysis on equipment breakdowns. Develop and improve the preventative maintenance plans. Execute planned equipment rebuilds/PM activities across the department. Execute any recommendation or implementation of continuous improvement on mechanical equipment design to improve line effectiveness & equipment reliability. Support maintenance leadership with equipment bill of materials and spare parts inventory levels for plant equipment. Support training for other associates (technical or production) as needed. Support and maintain positive rapport with customers, suppliers, contractors, and 3rd party associates. Support and participant on assigned teams & support team decisions. Support and configure the calibration of all forms of mechanical and pneumatic process equipment. Working overtime will be required at times when the workload demands. Provide coverage for peers on vacation, training, sick, and meetings. Perform all work in accordance to Hotwork Permit and Fire watch regulations. Utilize the SAP system to document daily activities. Provide written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey ideas/facts clearly and concisely are preferred. Keyboarding and typing skills with the ability to communicate with Microsoft Office business application software. Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the Springfield QRMP accountability document. Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year mechanical equipment, components, and parts experience that includes a background in industrial mechanical machining.
  • Industrial Mechanical experience must include good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmissions; and diagnosis and troubleshooting of each in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights up to 36 feet as required to perform essential job duties, using appropriate fall-protection equipment and following all safety procedures.
  • Enter and work in confined spaces as required, in accordance with site safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.) and fabrication experience.
  • Operations manufacturing experience must include the operating of industrial production machinery and making minor repairs or adjustments to said machinery.
